Buying a Moroccan rug online is not an easy decision to make. Here are the most frequently asked questions by our customers.

Where are your items made?
Artisans workshops are located in the Middle Atlas mountains in Morocco.
Who makes the rugs?
All our rugs are handmade by Moroccan women weavers. They never went to any design school. Their skills are inherited from their mothers and grand mothers.
What do you use to make your rugs?
Our Casablanca, Assilah, Zagora collections and all custom rugs are 100% natural wool.
Our Tamuda collection is made of recycled material.
How can I recognize a high quality Moroccan rug on pictures?
Check:
1) The density of the knots: The tighter and denser the knots are, the better the quality of the rug.
2) The irregularity of the knots: Moroccan rugs are handmade by more than two hands. The knots cannot be perfectly aligned. If they are perfectly aligned, the rug is machine made.
3) How soft the rug looks. Very often, Moroccan rugs from souks and from big home decor stores mix wool and cotton. This way, they are able to be cheaper. You will pay half price for this type of rugs but they will last a couple of years and you will have to invest in a new rug.
How do I clean my rug?
We recommend vacuuming your rug once a week.
When will I be charged for my order?
For available items, you will be charged once your order is placed.
For custom rugs, you will pay 50% of the price to place the order. The rest should be paid when your rug is ready to be shipped.

Custom rugs
What is the lead time for a custom rug?
Depending on the dimensions of your rug, the complexity of the design and the weather, lead time will vary from 6 to 15 weeks.
What can be personalized?
You can choose:
- The design
- The size
- The height of the pile (low, medium, high)
- The colors
- Tassels or no tassels.
What if the size I want is not available on your website?

Will my rug be the exact same as the one ordered?
Your rug will be unique. It will be handmade, knot by knot. For this reason, it might have few variations in design and colors. This is what makes the beauty and uniqueness of our rugs :)
Can I draw my own design?
Yes! You can absolutely draw your own unique design. Our artisans will do their best to reproduce it in the dimensions you need.
Can I order a design not listed on your website?
Yes! You saw a design you liked on Pinterest or Instagram? Share it with us, we can make a similar rug for you.

When will I be charged for my order?
For custom rugs, you will pay 50% of the price to place the order. The rest should be paid when your rug is ready to be shipped.

Shipping & Delivery
When will I receive my order?
If you have ordered an item available in our inventory, you should receive it within 3 to 10 business days.
If you have ordred a custom rug, lead time will be 6 to 15 weeks + 3 to 10 business days for delivery.
How do I know my order is shipped?
We will be sending you an email with tracking numbers. We use Canada Post for orders shipped from Toronto, and Fedex for orders shipped from Morocco.
Is shipping free?
Yes! We also offer free shipping in Canada and worldwide
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes! All our rugs are shipped worldwide.
Will I have to pay additional fees (customs, taxes)?
If you are in Canada:
Orders placed after November 2021: You won't have any duties to pay. All custom fees will be paid by Baboosh.
Orders placed before November 2021: For all your rugs' orders, you will have to pay custom fees. We are unable to give estimations. You will be contacted by Fedex once your rug is shipped with all the information to pay duties.
If you are outisde of Canada:
You are responsible for all duties.
Are your items shipped from Canada or from Morocco?
Most of our rugs are shipped from Morocco.
The rest is shipped from Canada.
Returns
Do you accept returns?
Yes with some conditions. Please refer to our return conditions.
Please note that items on sale and custom rugs cannot be returned.
Payment Plans
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes we do offer payment plans for all our custom rugs as well as rugs that are $1,000 and more. Please read our Payment Plans policy.
When will I be charged for my order?
For available items, you will be charged once your order is placed.

Interior Designers
Do you offer trade discount?
Yes we do! If you are an interior designer, hospitality design, architect, home stager, decorator, please contact us via email baboosh@baboosh.ca, by phone +1(647)673-8103 or by filling in this form. We will get back to you within 1 business day.
